This list is of area festivals between Labor Day and Thanksgiving is a work in progress. Details will be expanded, and more fests will be added. This list does not (and will not) include Halloween Events. Look for a separate list of all things Halloween, coming soon.
Festivals all around North Texas (including Waxahachie, Ennis, Wilmer, and other cities on the far outskirts of DFW) appear on this list. Ready to travel a little further? Hit the road and check out some Texas Fall Festivals that are worth the drive.
Looking for more Oktoberfests? There are so many of them, I made an Ultimate Guide to DFW Oktoberfests, although I’ve also included some top ones below.

The largest wine festival in the Southwest, Grapefest is undoubtedly one of the top fall festivals in DFW, and possibly in Texas. There are dozens of reasons to love this festival even if you don’t drink wine. Watch (or join in) the GrapeStomp and the Champagne Cork Shoot-Off for starters.
But if you’re really not into wine, you can still fill a day or an evening with fun things. The Texas Rangers 2023 World Championship Trophy will be at the Grapevine CVB building, 636 S. Main St. for photo-ops on Thursday and Friday evening. Over four days, four stages will host 35 different bands in genres ranging from country to jazz to classic rock and beyond. Variety party bands and tribute bands are in the lineup too.
Take a spin on carnival rides for all ages, or walk the kids over to the Kid Zone for activities from arts and crafts to climbing walls to dance parties.
Fill up on festival food of all kinds at vendor booths, or drop in to one of the restaurants on Main Street. They’ll be open!

This fest is a top annual event in Denton, and in Texas.I always associate this festival with green, and not just because of Mean Green at UNT. I mean, it’s true the jazz studies program at UNI is universally acclaimed and the One O’Clock Lab Band alone makes this festival worth a visit.
But what’s super green at this fest is the trees. Quakertown park has lovely shady areas, including a big one right in front of one of the big stages.
